California Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis stopped by California State University, Bakersfield on Tuesday as part of a statewide tour to reaffirm the state's commitment to higher education.
Kounalakis had the opportunity to meet with campus and community leaders as well as students. She also toured several areas of the campus, including the Edible Garden and the site of the future Energy Innovation Building, which is being funded through $83 million provided by the state and is expected to start construction this fall.
