California State University, Bakersfield’s business and education graduate programs have been nationally recognized for the value they provide to their students.
Money magazine, in partnership with College Factual, has rated CSUB’s education master’s programs five stars and its Master’s in Business Administration program four out of five stars in its first-ever Best Graduate School Programs rankings.
CSUB was one of 36 universities from across the nation to make the education rankings and one of 53 institutions to make the MBA rankings.
The universities were rated based on factors including annual costs, average student debt, employment rate and average early career salaries. Data was collected from several sources, including the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard and the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System.
“It is truly an honor and a privilege for both our MBA and education master's programs to be recognized,” said Associate Dean of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies Dr. Denver Fowler. “Notably, this is further testament to the continued exceptional work of our students, staff, faculty and administration in Graduate Studies. When prospective graduate and doctoral students are deciding on where to obtain their degree, it is my hope they think of us first. Great things are happening here at CSUB, and we want them to be part of it.”
Money also rated CSUB 4.5 out of 5 stars in its 2023 Best Colleges in America rankings, as well as in its Best Public Colleges and Best Colleges in the West lists. More than 700 institutions were evaluated based on 26 factors involving quality, affordability and student outcomes.
The magazine switched from a numbered system to a rating system for their rankings this year. Money said a rating system helps families with their college search more by highlighting the variety and diversity of the institutions it features.
Money’s mission is to provide users with resources and tools to make informed decisions about their finances.
