California State University, Bakersfield was named on CollegeNet’s Top 20 Social Mobility Index, which was released today, among 13 other CSU campuses.
The Social Mobility Index ranks nearly 1,400 four-year institutions according to how effectively they enroll students from low-income backgrounds and graduate them into promising careers. The 2020 Social Mobility Index benchmarks 1,449 four-year schools.
The university currently serves more than 11,000 students and nearly 60,000 alumni from its four schools: Arts and Humanities, Business and Public Administration, Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Engineering, and Social Sciences and Education. The university offers undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate and credential programs, and a doctoral program in Educational Leadership (Ed.D).
