California State University, Bakersfield Director of Athletics Kyle Conder has been appointed to serve on the NCAA Division I Board of Directors Infractions Process Committee, a group of national leaders aimed at guiding the board.
Along with eight other members, Conder has been tasked with helping develop policies and procedures relevant to NCAA infractions as part of his four-year term. The committee is responsible for reviewing the overall effectiveness of the infractions process structure.
“Integrity, effectiveness, and efficiency are among the most important priorities for NCAA member institutions,” Conder said. “I appreciate the opportunity to help inform ways to make the infractions process meaningful and well-designed. I am honored to serve on the Infractions Process Committee and represent CSUB and The Big West on a national level.”
The board of directors is the highest governing body for NCAA Division I, responsible for strategy and policy and overseeing legislation and management of the division. The Infractions Process Committee was created in early 2021 with the ultimate goal of providing recommendations for the board as the NCAA landscape continues to shift and adapt to a modern version of collegiate athletics.
“The appointment of AD Conder gives CSUB a powerful voice at the table as the NCAA navigates a new world for scholar-athletes and Division I programs,” said President Lynnette Zelezny. “This committee will require leaders of integrity who have a keen understanding of what is at stake at campuses across the country. I can think of no better leader than Kyle Conder for this extraordinary responsibility.”
Now in his second year as the director of athletics at CSUB, Conder came to the Roadrunners with over 20 years of experience in Division I athletics. Carrying a rich background in the area of compliance as well as a degree from UNLV’s William S. Boyd School of Law, his experience and education made him a quality candidate to join the Infractions Process Committee.
“I applaud the NCAA in its selection of Kyle to the NCAA Division I Board of Directors Infractions Process Committee,” said Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Thomas Wallace. “He brings insight, integrity, experience and a wealth of knowledge and experience to the committee as he represents CSUB and The Big West.”
The nine-person committee is made up of three university presidents, two athletics directors, one conference commissioner, a faculty athletics representative, compliance official and a student-athlete representative. The full Infractions Process Committee roster can be viewed here.
