California State University, Bakersfield is proud to announce 997 undergraduates and 129 graduate students from its four schools: Arts and Humanities, Business and Public Administration, Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Engineering and Social Sciences and Education, for fall 2020.
“Earning a college degree in the midst of a pandemic is a feat of true, deep commitment,” said CSUB President, Dr. Lynnette Zelezny.
The fall 2020 academic semester celebrations and announcements have looked differently as the world has shifted and adapted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the university acknowledges that this is still an accomplishment and one to be celebrated, in spite of the unforeseen challenges of last year.
“You are just what we need right now, at this pivotal moment in the history of the world. If we are to emerge from this pandemic into a brighter tomorrow, it will be through the work and dedication of CSUB graduates, who have invested your time and passion into enriching your own lives so that you may someday enrich the lives of others,” added President Zelezny.
Among the graduates are 401 first-generation students, 18 veterans and the eldest student at 74-years-old.
These students will join the 56,000 graduates before them from CSUB.
