The School of Business and Public Administration has ratified a five-year extension for Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation for its undergraduate programs in business and economics as well as its MBA program. The accreditation places CSUB in the top 5% of business schools worldwide.
AACSB describes the fundamental purpose of accreditation is to encourage business schools to hold themselves accountable for improving business practice through a commitment to strategic management, learner success, thought leadership, and societal impact.
AACSB accreditation is known worldwide as the longest-standing, most recognized form of specialized accreditation that an institution and its business programs can earn. Accreditation is a voluntary, nongovernmental process that includes a rigorous external review of a school's mission, faculty qualifications, curricula and ability to provide the highest-quality programs.
Alexander J. Triantis, chair of the AACSB International Board of Directors, said “the Peer Review Team's recommendation for extension of accreditation of the business degree programs offered by your school has been concurred with by the Continuous Improvement Review Committee, and also ratified by the Board of Directors. Congratulations to you, the faculty, students, staff, and all supporters of the school.”
BPA Dean Dr. Deborah Cours, who started at CSUB in July, applauded the excellent contributions by faculty and staff, the community members who partner with the school and the students and alumni whose success this recognition most celebrates.
“I’m thrilled to celebrate the full five-year extension of our AACSB accreditation,” she said. “We are committed to supporting the success of our region by doing our part. Our students deserve affordable access to excellent quality business education, and this accreditation proves that is what we provide.”
