California State University, Bakersfield was named by Business Insider as No. 18 on the top 24 colleges with the best return on investment (ROI).
According to the recent Business Insider article, the best return on investment colleges were based on “post-grad salary and tuition figures.”
CSUB has a return on investment of 71.5% with its median earnings after 10 years of $47,800 and the average cost of attendance is $16,714.
Also used to make the final decisions was recent data from the Department of Education’s scorecard that included the figures for cost of tuition, enrollment and student debt. Only schools that are mainly four-year, bachelor degree colleges and have at least 1,000 undergraduate students were included.
CSUB is also accompanied by three other California State University (CSU) campuses, including Dominguez Hills, Los Angeles and Stanislaus.
The best ROI’s were shown as a percentage based on Business Insider’s calculated ratios of 10-year earnings to average costs. Business Insider then multiplied costs by four to get an estimate of a typical four-year cost.
While it is a challenging time in the times of COVID-19, CSUB is thankful for the dedication of the students, faculty, and staff that make the campus what it is – an inspiring place to be.
