The Walter W. Stiern Library at California State University, Bakersfield recently published a number of online resources in honor of Pride Month. The resources include an array of featured stories, books, journals and databases, archives, videos and outside information.
Pride Month is celebrated annually in June to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, which served as a tipping point for the nation's Gay Liberation Movement, according to the Library of Congress.
On its social media channels, the Walter W. Stiern Library will also be highlighting books, articles, videos and key individuals on Tuesdays and Thursdays this month. Follow @WWStiernLibrary and #WSLCelebratesPRIDE to learn more.
Also in honor of Pride Month, the California State University published a system-wide "30 Days of Pride" page highlighting LGBTQ+ members of each CSU campus. Kris Grappendorf, lecturer and chair of CSUB's Kinesiology Department, was featured. Grappendorf is an advocate and mentor to LGBTQ+ students and serves as co-chair of the LGBTQ+ affinity group. Learn more about Grappendorft and other CSU leaders by visiting the "30 Days of Pride" page.
