The Roadrunner community is coming together this April to transform the lives of students.
California State University, Bakersfield is holding its annual digital fundraising marathon Raising for `Runners Giving Day from noon on April 2 to noon on April 3. Campus and community members will have 24 hours to show their support by donating to the areas and programs they are most passionate about.
“Raising for `Runners signifies our steadfast commitment to our current and future students of CSUB,” said Director of Annual Giving and Stewardship Eric Weis. “Understanding the needs of our community and beyond is imperative in building partnerships to ensure that our students are prepared to step into the workforce and make a difference.”
The campaign will include several challenges that unlock gifts for reaching certain donor participation milestones, including the President’s Challenge, Faculty and Staff Initiative Challenge, Alumni Challenge and the Battle of the Schools Challenge.
You can also support CSUB by eating at California Pizza Kitchen on Stockdale Highway on April 2 or 3. If you dine in person, mention that you are there to support the university and the eatery will donate 20% of your meal purchase to CSUB. Use the promo code BACK20% if ordering takeout or delivery.
“We look to our alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents, community supporters and industry leaders to participate in this important initiative to support a fund that is meaningful to you,” Weis said. “Thank you for making a difference for our students and our campus.”
Money raised through Raising for `Runners Giving Day will help CSUB reach its goal of raising $55 million by July as part of its first-ever comprehensive fundraising campaign, which was publicly announced in October 2021.
To support Raising for `Runners Giving Day, you can:
- Donate to your favorite area on campus on April 2 and 3.

Register to become a Giving Day ambassador, where you will obtain a unique URL which tracks how many donors and dollars you raise through your promotions.
- Promote Raising for `Runners on social media using the hashtag #CSUBGivingDay and #Raising4Runners.
