Hundreds of `Runners celebrated their graduation from California State University, Bakersfield last week.
The students cheered as well as embraced each other and their families during the university's fall commencement ceremonies held on Dec. 15 and 16 in the Mechanics Bank Arena in downtown Bakersfield.
These graduates join an accomplished group of more than 65,000 CSUB alumni, of which 60% remain in the Kern County region after graduation to live, work and give back to the community.
The ceremonies were also special in that they are the last to feature President Lynnette Zelezny, who is retiring at the end of the month.
